Hello! Does anyone know if there is a way for Tidal to highlight active patterns in mini notation, similar to Strudel? I have been taking a live coding class and we are currently making the jump from Strudel to Tidal. I am excited, though this is a feature I find myself missing. Thanks!

Hey @NotTodayGalvatron, I started to implement the event highlighting in Pulsar and NeoVim.
The Pulsar version is still under construction but should work already fine for smaller live coding sessions. You just need to enable it in the package settings:

> **[GitHub - tidalcycles/pulsar-tidalcycles: Pulsar plugin for TidalCycles](https://github.com/tidalcycles/pulsar-tidalcycles?tab=readme-ov-file#event-highlighting)**
>
> Pulsar plugin for TidalCycles

For the NeoVim part here is the repository that contains the event highlighting functionality:

> **[GitHub - thgrund/tidal.nvim: Neovim Plugin for livecoding with TidalCycles](https://github.com/thgrund/tidal.nvim)**
>
> Neovim Plugin for livecoding with TidalCycles

And I created this video where I explain the setup:

[![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/DVYm-c1AV-8/maxresdefault.jpg "My NeoVim TidalCycles setup explained: installation and showcase") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVYm-c1AV-8)

These are my implementations. But with this the hole topic became some drive. I.e. pluguzu has event highlighting as well: [Introducing pluguzu, a plugin to run Tidal natively in a DAW](https://club.tidalcycles.org/t/introducing-pluguzu-a-plugin-to-run-tidal-natively-in-a-daw/5758)

And the first time the event highlighting was introduced in this editor:

> **[GitHub - yaxu/feedforward](https://github.com/yaxu/feedforward)**

It’s an experimental editor that has just a minimize feature set. It works the best in single persons live coding session. As far as I know, you can not save files with the feedforward editor.

The inspiration for my implementation is this editor from Matthew:

> **[GitHub - matthewkaney/text.management: Experimental Live Code Editor](https://github.com/matthewkaney/text.management)**

> Experimental Live Code Editor

But I wasn’t able to make this editor work tbh.

These are all options, that are in use and that I am aware of 🙂
