Broken Badges

I've been looking through the badges page and noticed that several seemingly achievable badges have never been awarded to any users. This suggests that some of the automated triggers in the Discourse system might be misconfigured or disabled.

I’m curious about the community and admin stance on this: is there an interest in fixing these engagement markers, or should we treat badges as a low-priority feature not worth much investment?

Personally I think it’s a low priority.

Maybe we should turn badges off completely? Does anyone like them?

As a new member of this community, I think badges are a nice way to keep people coming back to the site. It is a basic form of gamification that helps build loyalty by giving users a sense of progress and recognition for their contributions. If we want the community to grow, we should take advantage of these features rather than turning them off. But, I have to say, broken badges make the forum feel a bit… neglected.
